"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Thinking of warmer days

Last Fall, Eric gave the boys a list of chores to do while he is away for a few days.

1. Lead the prayers for your mom and sister. (the one wearing the bum)
2. Feed the dogs.

3. Bring up a water tank for the new cattle, then fill it up..
4. Clean the automatic waterer in your pony pen. (with a scrub brush)
5. Feed the bull.

It was hard work!

Studying

Eric and I have been studying, together, Luther' s Small Catechism.  He has been teaching  the Ten Commandments to the boys and how to apply them in  everyday life.  And while Eric is working... Noah, Hatten and I work on memorization.  Thus far, they can recite Commandments 1-7 by heart!  Here is a summary of what we have been learning and praying together as a family...

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind"
Matt. 22:37
"Though shalt love thy neighbor as thyself"
Matt.  22:39
" Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself.  I am the Lord."
Lev. 19:18
"Love does no harm to his neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law"
Rom. 13:10
I hope to post a video of these yummy kids reciting their commandments, soon!
God's Blessings,
Karrie Ann & Family

Matthew 7

"Do not judge,
or you too will be judged. "
Matthew 7:1

"...after all why do we judge one another if not out of fear and insecurity
that we ourselves are the ones making the mistakes?"
written by a wise Lutheran woman named Melrose.

Digging deeper into the Ten Commandments lead us to the Book of Matthew.  Reading Matthew lead me to thinking of the post written here.... and I thought I'd share.

His Word is Good!  Try it!
